Great Adventures is a part of the Quicksilver Group and provides daily, half day snorkel tours to Green Island on the Great Barrier Reef.  Located just 27km offshore from Cairns, Green Island is the only coral cay on the Great Barrier Reef to have rainforest growing on it, making it a very unique destination.  By booking a “Green Island Eco Adventure” with Great Adventures, guests can choose from three departure times, making this a completely flexible way to include snorkelling into your holiday itinerary.  Departure times are 8.30am, 10.30am and 1.00pm from Cairns and your half day tour inclusions are: return catamaran cruise from Cairns to Green Island, tea and coffee, self-guided rainforest eco walk at Green Island, snorkelling and use of day visitor facilities at Green Island.

The Great Adventures “Green Island Eco Adventure” is perfect for visitors to Cairns who only have limited time to experience and explore the Great Barrier Reef and its islands.  Your Great Adventures destination, Green Island, is the only coral cay on the Great Barrier Reef to have rainforest growing on it.  Occupying approximately 37 acres, Green Island is just 27km offshore from Cairns and is home to 126 native plant species, a range of birdlife and is surrounded by coral gardens.  The half day tours can be tailored to suit your itinerary and preferences and include a fast, air-conditioned return catamaran cruise from Cairns to Green Island, with three departure times daily.  Green Island is home to a luxurious resort, complete with large in-ground swimming pool, cafes, bars and restaurants.  All of its day visitor facilities are available for your enjoyment during your half day Great Adventures tour.  On the island, choose between snorkelling the coral gardens and viewing bright, tropical fish, relaxing on the beach or taking a self-guided interpretive tour of the unique rainforest environment.  Lunch and refreshments are not included in the ticket price; however, there are a range of options available at Green Island, including the Canopy Grill, Lite Bites, Aussie Buffet, Reflections Pool Bar and Emeralds Restaurant.   A great way to spend half a day in paradise.
