A part of the Quicksilver Group, Great Adventures specialises in snorkelling tours to the Great Barrier Reef, departing daily.  A Great Adventures “Great Barrier Reef Adventure” includes three hours at the reef, moored to the Outer Reef Activity Platform, all snorkelling equipment and tuition, reef education presentation, semi-submersible coral reef viewing tour, underwater observatory, guided reef eco talk, morning tea / coffee and a buffet lunch.  The advantage of a Great Adventures “Great Barrier Reef Adventure” is its delayed start time.  Departure is not until 10.30am, giving you time to sleep in and enjoy breakfast, before heading out to sea.  Optional activities include Scuba-Doo and a scenic helicopter flight.

The Great Adventures “Great Barrier Reef Adventure” day tour is perfect for holiday makers who want to sleep in and enjoy a relaxed breakfast before starting their Great Barrier Reef snorkelling adventure.  Departing Cairns at 10.30am, you will enjoy morning tea and coffee as your modern, air-conditioned catamaran makes its way to the multi-level Reef Activity Platform.  Moored on the Outer Great Barrier Reef this spacious, stable platform has undercover seating, table and chairs for lunch, full bar facilities, sun deck, underwater observatory and an air-conditioned semi-submersible vessel.  It also has a swimming enclosure for children and changerooms with freshwater showers.  Full use of these facilities and a delicious tropical buffet lunch are all included in your Great Adventures “Great Barrier Reef Adventure” ticket price.  There are also some optional extras you may want to consider including introductory and certified diving and a Scuba-Doo experience.  What is Scuba-Doo? It is an underwater scooter!  This little extra is great fun and your knowledgeable guide will take you on amazing underwater journey: this is perfect for non-swimmers and no experience is necessary.  Another option is to combine your snorkelling day tour with scenic helicopter flight, which can be 10-minutes over the reef, or a return journey to Cairns from the Outer Reef Activity Platform.
