M.V. Reef-Kist is the Cairns Dive Centre vessel that provides one day snorkel trips to the Outer Great Barrier Reef.  With a maximum of just 50 guests per trip (after the transfer of some divers to their liveaboard vessel), you are guaranteed a high staff to customer ratio during this great day out, which includes visits to two different dive / snorkel locations choosing from Milln, Briggs, Moore and Thetford Reefs, depending on weather and conditions.  M.V. Reef-Kist is a 17.5m catamaran with a top speed of 18 knots, giving you a comfortable journey during your 90-minute transfer to the first destination. The boat is equipped with state of the art equipment and highly experienced staff.  Optional introductory dives are available on request. (Can be booked with the crew on the day.)

Your snorkelling day tour about the M.V. Reef-Kist commences with check in and boarding at Cairns Marlin Marina (E Finger) at 7.00am.  Welcome tea and coffee is served on boarding, before the new to town (purchased in 2011) catamaran departs Cairns for your day on the Outer Great Barrier Reef. Your first stop will be at either Milln, Briggs, Moore or Thetford Reefs, depending on conditions.  These reefs are approximately 64km off the coast of Cairns and with a top speed of 18 knots; you should arrive in about 90-minutes, giving you approximately five hours at the reef.   Enjoy snorkelling spectacular coral gardens, with professional equipment and tuition, before returning to the M.V. Reef-Kist for a delicious buffet lunch.  Vegetarian options are available, but make sure you let the team know when making your booking.    After lunch, visit the second snorkel site of the day for more time in the water.  If you have questions on the marine life, just ask the friendly staff who have been chosen as members of the M.V.
