Your Ocean Spirit diving day tour starts a little bit later than some other tours, with an 8.30am check-in and departure from Cairns’ Marlin Jetty.  Once aboard, enjoy morning tea and refreshments as you make your way to your Great Barrier Reef diving destination, Michaelmas Cay.  This Cay is famous for its seabird population.  It is situated 17km north of Green Island, 43km north-east from Cairns and is managed by the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority as a Sensitive Location, due its special values.   Indeed, this is the only Great Barrier Reef destination within the Cairns area, providing guests with the opportunity to experience a seabird rookery.  Covered by grasses and low growing plants, this small, low sand cay provides the ideal habitat for ground nesting seabirds and guided bird tours are provided as a part of your day tour.  Life in the surrounding waters is just as plentiful, making this a rich dive day tour destination.  Large coral gardens and bombies are bursting with colour and life.  A multitude of fish, turtles and other marine species abound at Michaelmas Cay and with Ocean Spirit Cruises you have four hours to explore it all.  Maximise your experience by joining the ecological presentation provided on board.  Other experiences available  and included in your tickets price are an air-conditioned semi-submersible tour, sailing, live musical entertainment and a glass of sparkling Australian wine on your return journey.
