Great Adventures combines Green Island with an Outer Great Barrier Reef activity pontoon in one amazing day tour, which departs Cairns daily at 8.30am. Enjoy two hours exploring Green Island with its rainforest, golden sandy beaches and luxury resort before continuing out to sea to spend three hours on the Outer Great Barrier Reef.  Activities included in the day tour are snorkelling (equipment provided) a self-guided walk through the rainforest at Green Island, semi-submersible tour at the reef pontoon, and a visit to the underwater observatory, where you can check out the fish and join in an Eco Reef Talk with the Marine Naturalist.  Lots of optional extras: diving, scenic helicopter flights and more.

This is a fantastic day tour combining a Green Island experience with the Outer Great Barrier Reef, in one action packed adventure! Boarding the spacious and comfortable catamaran at 8am, enjoy complimentary tea and coffee while you settle in for the 45-minute transfer to Green Island.  Departing Cairns at 8.30am enjoy views of Trinity Inlet before heading out to sea: arriving at Green Island around 9.15am, where you have two hours to explore with a lot of options to choose from.  Relax on the golden, sandy beach or by the resort swimming pool, snorkel the fringing reefs or take a self-guided tour around the rainforest boardwalks to learn about the botany and cultural history of the island (takes 45-minutes).  At 11.20am it’s back to the catamaran for a 70-minute transfer to the Outer Great Barrier Reef activity platform.  En route there is a Reef Presentation on the on-board monitors and cake is served: choose between the air-conditioned interior or exterior sundeck.  Arriving at the pontoon at 12.30pm you can get in the water for a snorkel (or scuba dive – optional extra) or stay dry on a semi-submersible tour or visit to the underwater observatory.  A hot and cold buffet lunch is served from 1-2.30pm so you can tailor your three hours at the Outer Great Barrier Reef to suit your interests and activities.  At 3.30pm the boat prepares for departure and commences its return to Cairns, via Green Island.
