What about disposable cameras? Are they cheaper / better?

Of course, you can always “go retro” and get yourself an old school disposable film camera (yes we have them in store!), but there are plenty of reasons why renting a digital camera is so much better, here are a few:

• With a disposable camera you only get 27 photos…that’s it!
• You have to pay for developing all of the photos….even if they are terrible!
• The colours will be terrible, mostly blue/greys.
• No zoom, no flash, no autofocus, no macro, no video, no LCD screen to review the photos.

Both are PADI dive instructors and professional underwater photographers, with thousands of logged dives and vast experience in all facets of the Great Barrier Reef tourism industry.

Wetrez was started in 2005 as the first dedicated, affordable Cairns Underwater Camera Hire service on the Great Barrier Reef. As always, WetRez continues to strive towards providing the highest quality and easiest to use digital underwater camera rental and hire cameras to our customers.

Where is WetRez?

Cairns Underwater Camera Hire: WetRez is conveniently located at Shop 4, Corner of The Esplanade and Shields Street. (Easy to find – opposite McDonalds and the Cairns Lagoon, right in the middle of town!) WetRez is only 250 metres (2 minutes walk) from the Marlin Marina and Reef Fleet Terminal.

When are WetRez open?

Cairns Underwater Camera Hire: WetRez is open 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Trading hours are 12 noon until 9pm.
Cameras must be picked up the day before your reef trip.
Memory cards, batteries, universal underwater camera cases, disposable and re-usable film cameras and all other camera accessories are available in-store.
