Cairns Dive Centre’s 4 Day Liveaboard Learn to Dive course includes two days theory in the Cairns classroom and two days liveaboard scuba diving on the Great Barrier Reef.  On successful completion of the course, you will be a certified SSI Open Water Scuba Diver, enabling you to scuba dive to depths of up to 18m anywhere in the world, in accordance with your license.

Starting daily, this is a very itinerary friendly course and includes all instruction (with professional dive instructors), equipment, transfers to and from your accommodation and the Great Barrier Reef, 1 snorkel training dive, 4 training scuba dives on the Great Barrier Reef and one pleasure dive as a certified diver.

Learn to scuba dive in Cairns - SSI Open Water Certification

The Cairns Dive Centre offers the best value learn to dive course in Cairns, including two day trips to the Great Barrier Reef.  Perfect for budget conscious travellers, this four day course includes two days of theory and pool work in Cairns, followed by two day trips and four training dives on the Great Barrier Reef, aboard the M.V Reef-Kist.  Once you have completed the required paperwork and skills tests, you will be a licensed SSI Open Water Diver, which is an internationally recognised certification, allowing you to scuba dive anywhere in the world.

SSI – Scuba Schools International – and the Cairns Dive Centre focus on providing increased training in actual conditions, making you a comfortable, confident scuba diver.  This four day SSI Open Water Diver course includes theory, the SSI student manual, practical skills in the pool (additional time is available for the nervous, provided free of charge), two day trips to the Great Barrier Reef, four training dives, lunch aboard M.V Reef-Kist and all transfers.  It does not include accommodation in Cairns. This is definitely the most affordable learn to dive the Great Barrier Reef course available in Cairns.

Learn to Dive the Great Barrier Reef with Pro Dive Cairns

Do you want to learn to scuba dive on the Great Barrier Reef? Then this is the course for you!  Pro Dive Cairns provides 5 day learn to dive courses in Cairns and on the Great Barrier Reef, which end with you being a certified PADI Open Water Diver, enjoying recreational dives on the Great Barrier Reef aboard their liveaboard vessel, Scubapro.

Learning to scuba dive is an amazing experience and involves four different stages: getting a dive medical, learning the basic skills and requirements in class and the pool and open water scuba diving.  This course includes everything except the dive medical and completes the basic skills and introductory scuba training over two days at the Pro Dive training centre in Cairns, before heading to the Outer Great Barrier Reef on a specialised liveaboard dive vessel to complete your certification and enjoy open water diving over three days / two nights.

Nine Great Barrier Reef scuba dives are included in this course: the first four dives are a part of your PADI Open Water Certification and then there is time for five recreational dives, including a guided night dive.  This package includes all dive equipment and insurance, dive instruction and manuals and meals on the boat.  It does not include the dive medical, which must be obtained in Cairns beforehand.  Courses are available in English, German and Japanese.

Finish your learn to dive course on the Great Barrier Reef

In this exclusive offer Tusa Dive enable you to complete your learn to dive course, on-board their luxurious catamaran, T6.  This package is only available to those who have already completed the preliminary learning component of the PADI course, including the written test, and passed a dive medical to Australian Standards AS4005.1.  PADI does provide e-learning options through their website, or alternatively the classroom component and written test can be completed with another Cairns operator, Pro Dive Cairns.

To take advantage of this package, you will need to have your dive referral paperwork, issued by a qualified PADI instructor, confirming you have completed your theory and pool work.  You will also need a current, Australian Dive Medical certificate which is less than 12 months old and reflective of your current health. The Tusa 2 Day Learn to Dive Referral Course includes two day trips to the Outer Great Barrier Reef on T5 and the four (4) open water training dives needed to obtain your PADI Open Water Dive License.

If you already have your Open Water Diver License and want to kick it up a notch on the Great Barrier Reef, then this course is perfect for you.  The Cairns Dive Centre Advanced Dive Course is designed to increase confidence and enhance your scuba diving skills, allowing even greater underwater exploration and enjoyment.  Core dive skills you’ll learn during this three day, two night course include underwater navigation, deeper water diving (anywhere from 18-30 metres) and night dives.  An additional two skills can be learnt, with a choice between search and recovery diving, boat diving, photography and underwater naturalist.  The best part being, you can tailor your Advanced Dive Course to suit your interests.

Cairns Dive Centre provides daily departures for this course thanks to their live aboard dive vessel M.V Kangaroo Explorer being permanently at sea.  There is a maximum of 38 overnight guests aboard M.V Kangaroo Explorer, ensuring you will enjoy plenty of space and an excellent crew to guest ratio.  All meals and dive equipment are included.


 

SSI Diver Rescue Course with Cairns Dive Centre

Returns: Every second Friday, 4.30pm

Cairns Dive Centre is Cairns’ SSI scuba diving specialists.  As well as offering learn to dive courses, they also offer advanced scuba diving courses including the SSI Diver Stress and Rescue course, which will help divers be prepared for unexpected emergencies.  This course focuses on providing scuba divers with the skills necessary to identify, avoid and solve problems that may occur under water or on the surface.  To participate, you must already possess valid CPR and First Aid skills and certificates.  You must also have a current Dive Medical certificate which is compliant with Australian Standards AS4005.1.

The SSI Diver Stress and Rescue License includes classroom time and in-water dive training, as well as open water dive experience and tuition on the Outer Great Barrier Reef.  The classroom and pool theory work is completed at their inner-city Cairns diver training centre by qualified SSI Dive Instructors.  Open water dives are undertaken at several sites on the Great Barrier Reef, aboard Cairns Dive Centre’s live aboard dive vessel M.V Kangaroo Explorer.
